Team India Must Use Sanju Samson Wisely- Danish Kaneria: Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria reacted badly to Sanju Samson’s batting position in the first ODI against West Indies. He said Sanju Samson was sent to bat at the wrong number in the first match.
Samson was promoted to batting, but he could not perform like that. He got out after scoring just 12 runs and became a victim of leg-before on the ball of Romario Shepherd. He took DRS but could not avoid being dismissed due to an umpire call. In this way, Samson flopped in another innings.
Sanju Samson should not have been promoted in the batting order – Danish Kaneria
On the other hand, former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria has questioned the batting position of Sanju Samson. He has said that Sanju Samson should not have been promoted in the batting order. He is not Rishabh Pant. During a conversation on his YouTube channel, he said,
Samson got another chance but didn’t seem to be in a particular rhythm. He looked dull before being dismissed by Romario Shepherd. However, I will again talk about Deepak Hooda and why he was sent down in the batting order. Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav are right for second and third, but Deepak Hooda should have come before Samson.
Like Rishabh Pant, India promoted Sanju Samson in the batting order, but he is not Pant. His batting is totally different. Let us tell you that the Indian team defeated West Indies by three runs in an exciting way in the first ODI match played in Port of Spain. The Indian team has taken a 1-0 lead in the series.
