IPL 2021 RCB vs KKR: Will KKR remove the middle order weaknesses against RCB?

IPL 2021-RCB vs KKR-Will KKR remove the middle order weaknesses against RCB?: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will overcome their middle-order weaknesses to try to get their campaign back on track against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match here on Sunday.

In the match between two of the best-limited overs captains in the world, Eoin Morgan and Virat Kohli, the Bangalore team seems to have a slight upper hand as they have won both their previous matches.

England captain Morgan, known for his skillful strategy and human management, will be desperate to get KKR’s campaign back on track. KKR is not running the middle order due to which they had to face defeat against Mumbai Indians.

After performing well in all departments against Sunrisers Hyderabad, KKR’s middle order was shattered like cards against Mumbai and suffered the 12th defeat in 13 matches.

Morgan showed his captaincy skills in bowling and played a key role in stopping Mumbai for 152 runs. With his superb bowling in the death overs, Andre Russell took six wickets but again failed to beat. He has scored only 14 runs in two matches.

Vice-captain Dinesh Karthik will also be under pressure to perform better. Nitish Rana has impressed in the batting but Shubman Gill could not take advantage of a good start. KKR will now expect a good performance from this young batsman.

Bowling in the death overs on Chepak’s pitch is a concern and Morgan is using his resources very cleverly. He will have to use this skill well against RCB’s team adorned with many star batsmen.

Kuldeep Yadav can be replaced in place of veteran Harbhajan Singh. Harbhajan had not done only the initial over in both the last matches.

As far as RCB is concerned, RCB has not been able to show their full potential despite the presence of Kohli, AB de Villiers, Glenn Maxwell and Devadatta Padikkal but RCB have won both their matches. Maxwell has played his role well in the middle order while Harshal Patel is making a difference in bowling.

Kohli will however be committed to continuing his team’s winning campaign and will be hoping for a better performance from his batsmen.

The teams are –

Royal Challengers Bangalore: Virat Kohli (captain), AB de Villiers, Devadatta Padikkal, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammad Siraj, Kane Richardson, Washington Sundar, Pavan Deshpande, Joshua Philip, Shahbaz Ahmad, Navdeep Saini, Adam Zampa, Kyle Jamison Rajat Patidar, Sachin Baby, Mohammad Azharuddin, Dan Christian, KS Bharat, Suyesh Prabhudesai, Daniel Symes and Harshal Patel.
