By IPL 2021-MI vs SRH: Will Sunrisers Hyderabad make their first victory against Mumbai’s strong team?-The Sunrisers Hyderabad team will make an effort to come up with the right combination against the strong team of Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League on Saturday to register a win after two successive defeats.
The Sunrisers team led by David Warner is missing the Chennai pitch and the team has failed to achieve the target of less than 150 runs.
In the first two matches, the team faced trouble chasing goals, which revealed weaknesses such as lack of depth in the playing XI and lack of availability of strong alternate Indian players.
The team selection of the playing XI of captain David Warner is also being questioned. Johnny Bairstow and Wriddhiman Saha as two wicketkeepers in the playing XI could not serve any purpose. Saha did not appear in any rhythm as an opener.
Wriddhiman Saha is a part of the IPL from the 1st tournament in 2008, but a closer look at his previous record shows that he has completely failed to score consistently.
With the presence of experienced players like Kedar Jadhav in the dug out and two talented players in the form of Priyam Garg and Abhishek Sharma, Saha is not expected to get more chances in the team with this performance.
If the team comes down with Kedar and Abhishek, they will also get the option of spin bowling.
Among the foreign players, only Warner and Rashid Khan are selected in the playing XI and Sunrisers need a fully fit Kane Williamson as he is a good batsman against spin bowling.
Warner will be disappointed by the way Manish Pandey and Abdul Samad played against Royal Challengers Bangalore left-arm spinner Shahbaz Ahmed.
Pandey was omitted from the list of centrally-contracted players on Thursday by the Indian Cricket Board and he may not get a chance to represent Team India again soon due to not playing the role of finisher properly.
Now, Manish Pandey has a chance to show strengthen his claim through the IPL. He is one of the 5 players who have completed 3000 IPL (Indian Premier League) runs with the lowest strike rate.
The bowling of the team is also a matter of concern. T Natarajan is not in the same form as last season, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar has also proved to be expensive.
Looking at the Mumbai Indians (MI) top-order batsmen like Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Quinton Dickock and Ishan Kishan, Sunrisers Hyderabad alternate fast bowlers like Siddharth Kaul and Sandeep Sharma also do not seem to be more effective.
It is unlikely that the Mumbai team will change their playing XI, especially with a thrilling win against Kolkata Knight Riders.
Mumbai Indians, will now be hoping for a better performance from their batsmen against Sunrisers who have not been able to perform as expected.
