Virat Kohli Reacted To Ben Stokes’s Retirement: On July 18, England all-rounder Ben Stokes surprised everyone by retiring from ODI cricket. Sharing a picture on his social media account, Ben Stokes wrote that he is now retiring from ODI cricket, and the first ODI against South Africa on July 19 will be his last ODI.

Let us tell you, Ben Stokes has played many ODIs for the England team and has won the team with his best performance. Former India captain Virat Kohli has also commented in his Instagram post. In the 2019 ODI World Cup, Ben Stokes performed well with batting and bowling and played an essential role in helping his team win the cup.

In the final match, Stokes played a crucial unbeaten knock of 84 runs against New Zealand and won the team the player of the match award along with winning the team.

Talking about the numbers of Stokes, he has scored 2919 runs in 104 ODIs at an average of 39.45, while in bowling, he has taken 74 wickets at an average of 41.8. Kohli wrote on Ben Stokes’ post, ‘You are the most competitive player out of all the players I have played with so far. You have respect.

Let us tell you, Ben Stokes was appointed as the captain of the Test team by the England Cricket Board (ECB) after Joe Root left the captaincy in Test cricket. Under his captaincy, the England team played four Test matches and won all four. 

Along with him, Brendon McCullum was appointed the head coach of the Test team. England had won the three-Test series against New Zealand 3–0, while they also won the match against India in the last Test match.

Ben Stokes wrote in his retirement post, ‘It is not my thing to play in all three formats. I feel now my body is not agreeing to it. I think now more experienced players should be given a chance in my place. Many congratulations to Jos Buttler and the rest of the team for the future. Now it is the turn of another cricketer to put his performance in front of the world and create as many memories as I have made in the last 11 years.
