Most cases of corona infection in Tokyo are related to night life and eating out, although recently infections have also spread to offices, old age homes and schools.
Suga also announced stringent measures to protect against corona in Kyoto, where cases have increased recently. These measures will also be taken in Osaka, Hyogo and Miyagi.
The Government of Japan has been criticized for its laxity in anti-virus measures. A medical emergency has been declared in Osaka where hospitals are filled with new patients. At the same time, next week’s Olympic flashlight relay will also not be taken off the road.
Even in Japan, the first of two vaccine doses has been applied to one percent or less of the population. In cases, the events related to the Olympics can be canceled.
Immunization of medical staff began in mid-February in Japan. The elderly will be vaccinated next week and will be employed by the end of June. After this, the population will have to wait till July, that is, everyone will not be able to get vaccines in Japan before the Olympics starting on July 23.
