By Thailand’s Government is offering a special tourist visa that will let international tourists stay for up to 90 days and is extendable up to 9 months, but in one condition – they have to quarantine for the first 14 days.
The new reopening plan aims to lure international visitors who want to stay for a while.
The guideline for the international tourists is may release next month, according to the Bangkok Post.
Visitors are required to book the accommodation for the full 90 days in advance and quarantine it upon arrival, the Bangkok Post reported. However, after the quarantine, visitors can move freely around the country.

Here’s how will Thailand Special Tourist Visa work:
- To get this long-term visa you must book accommodation for their full 90-day stay in Thailand.
- You can then also extend the visa for 270 days or nine months.
- But as we mentioned earlier, you will, first, have to quarantine for 14 days after arrival. After the quarantine period ends, you are free to travel to any place in Thailand.
- It is mandatory to keep handy both, health and travel insurance.
Note – This special visa offer is for limited numbers—only 1,200—on a first-come, first-served basis at a cost of Rs4,766. Interested persons can apply with the Tourism Authority of Thailand.
The Thailand government has not yet said whether visitors will need to have COVID-19 (Coronavirus) tests or other health screenings
