Telangana: BJP wrests Dubbaka seat from TRS in major bypoll upset

In a major upset for the ruling TRS in Telangana, the BJP bagged the Dubbaka Assembly body during a shut bypoll contest.

The seat fell vacant following the sudden ending of TRS MLA Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy last August. The TRS fielded Reddy’s better half Solipeta Sujata, whereas BJP fielded M Raghunandan Rao, a professional person and party advocator, WHO unsuccessfully oppose in 2014 and 2018. He won with a slender majority of 1470 votes. Congress candidate Cheruku Srinivas Reddy finished third.

The ending gave the BJP its second MLA within the state, and additionally a trial within the arm for the fresh appointed state chief and MP Bandi Sanjay. TRS leaders opined that infighting over nominating Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy’s better half because the TRS candidate might have caused the party to lose.

“We couldn’t win the required result. within the last six years of our governance, we’ve achieved several positive results however not nowadays. i believe it’s a rouse demand TRS leaders and party staff. within the coming back days we’ll sit down and analyse what went wrong. we’ll still work that our government has started,” same K T Rama Rao, TRS operating president.
