Stefanos Tsitsipas learnt of grandmother’s death minutes before French Open final

French Open runner-up Stefanos Tsitsipas revealed that he learned of his grandmother’s death just minutes before the tournament final against Novak Djokovic on Sunday.

In an Instagram post early Monday morning, the 22-year-old Greek tennis star dedicated his first Grand Slam final to her after Djokovic overturned a two-set deficit to win 6-7 (6/8), 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 and secure his 19th Grand Slam title.

But Djokovic knocked off a volley to end the contest after four hours and 11 minutes.
