NorthEast United came up with a resilient performance against the revamped Mumbai City and defeated them by 1-0 in the second match of the ISL 2020/21 campaign at the Tilak Maidan Stadium in Vasco on Saturday.
Despite Mumbai’s bright start with a lot of possession, everything was undone when Ahmed Jahouh was sent off for a reckless challenge on Khassa Camara. Gerard Nus’ side made the most of the man advantage and took the lead in the 49th minute through a Kwesi Appiah penalty. The Highlanders held on till the last minute to register their fourth win against the Islanders in 13 ISL meetings.
