The Virat Kohli-led RCB team, which is at the top of the game with four consecutive wins, has slipped to third place after two defeats in the last three matches.
RCB’s team would have lost all three of their previous matches if pacer Mohammad Siraj had not defended 14 runs in the final over against the aggressive pair of Rishabh Pant and Shimron Hetmyer of Delhi Capitals.
To put pressure on KKR, the team’s eyes will be on its top batsmen Kohli, AB de Villiers and Glenn Maxwell.
KKR’s team, which started with a season win under Eoin Morgan, failed to perform as expected and the team suffered five defeats in seven matches. The team is in sixth position and is in danger of dropping out early for the third consecutive season.
The biggest disappointment for KKR has been his top order. Shubman Gill, Nitish Rana and Rahul Tripathi have failed to give a good start to the team.
Gill has struggled consistently and failed to convert a good start into a big innings, while Rana and Tripathi have done well in pieces.
