IPL 2021: Kane Williamson will take some more time to fit the match: Bellis

IPL 2021-Kane Williamson will take some more time to fit the match: Bellis: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) head coach Trevor Bellis has said that New Zealand batsman Kane Williamson has not been included in the squad for the first match against Kolkata Knight Riders as he will take more time to get fit.

Williamson, batting at number four, scored 317 runs in 11 innings for the Sunrisers last season, while Johnny Bairstow scored 345 runs.

Bellis said at the press conference after the match, “We thought Kane would take extra time to get the match fit.” He would have replaced Johnny Bairstow if he fit the match. We are not worried because Bairstow also did well in the limited-overs series against India. ”

Bairstow scored 55 but Saha was dismissed cheaply at the start of the innings.

Bellis said that Bairstow, who played at number four in T20 but opened the innings for England in ODIs, can also start the innings in the IPL.

“It depends on fitness and form,” he said. We know he can start the innings as well as wicketkeeping. This gives us an option but he did well for England at number four.
