ICC WC 2022: “Team India Should Start Short Listing Players For T20 World Cup”- Zaheer Khan: Former bowler Zaheer Khan believes that Team India will have to start the process of shortlisting players for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 to be held in Australia. Team India, under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, is busy preparing for this year’s ICC tournament and would like to do well in the T20 series against England.
Since the last T20 World Cup, India has tried a lot of players, but only a few players will get a chance in the squad for the important tournament. That’s why the team management needs to try out those players who are planning to be selected in the team for the T20 World Cup.

Zaheer Khan said that when you have a lot of talent, it becomes challenging to select a compact team. On Cricbuzz, he said, “The preparations for the T20 World Cup should start now. The conditions are different in England and Australia, so that has to be considered. When you have such a big team, deciding which players to play becomes difficult. Dinesh Karthik’s presence is an added advantage” – Zaheer Khan.
Zaheer has described the presence of Dinesh Karthik, who will return to the Indian team through IPL 2022, as beneficial for the team. They said, “I think either Ishan Kishan or Sanju Samson will play. If you want to feed Ruturaj Gaikwad, he will have to shuffle again. Having Dinesh Karthik on the team as a finisher is an added advantage”.
Karthik scored 330 runs in 16 matches in IPL. During this, his strike rate was more than 180. He also had a stellar performance during the home T20I series against South Africa and scored a match-winning half-century.
