During second wave 645 children lost their parents as report by Women and Child Development Ministry

Covid-19 pandemic: During second wave 645 children lost their parents as report by Women and Child Development Ministry-

Due to Covid-19 from April to May 28 the total of 645 children lost their close one’s that is parents that report is given by WCD(Women and Children Development Ministry). In a meeting of Rajya Sabha minister Smriti Irani give data on children orphaned in the second wave of covid-19.

State wise report who lost their family:

The most of such children was reported from Uttar Pradesh with 158, then Andra Pradesh with 119, Maharashtra with 83, Madhya Pradesh with 73.

Policies and Education to those children:

The state government and UTs come together and requested the Ministry of Women and Child Development and dDepartment of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL) to provide education who lost their parents during pandemic and give them different schemes that are run by these types of WCD or DoSEL.
