IPL 2021 RCB vs RR: Will RCB continue Winning against Rajasthan Royals?
IPL 2021-RCB vs RR-Will RCB continue Winning against Rajasthan Royals?: RCB vs RR- The three-day-old Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team will enter here on Thursday with the intention of keeping the momentum of victory in the Indian Premier League against Rajasthan Royals (RR) here.
Both teams have started their campaign in the opposite direction.
RCB have recorded three consecutive morale wins. The team led by Virat Kohli defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders after defeating defending champions Mumbai Indians in the first match of the tournament and topped the points table.
The Royals, on the other hand, have managed to win just one of their three matches. Sanju Samson’s side have slipped to sixth position after their loss against Chennai Super Kings in the last match and are awaiting their second win.
The Royals have failed to perform as a team. Samson brought the team to the threshold of victory with a brilliant century in the first match against Punjab Kings but failed to win. South Africa’s David Miller and Chris Maurice were successful in registering a win against Delhi Capitals.
Opener Jose Butler looked dangerous against the Superkings but did not get the support of the other batsmen. If the Royals are to win, then the team will have to perform in unison.
The Royals bowlers have disappointed. Except for the match against Delhi Capitals, the Royals bowlers have collected a lot of runs. Jaydev Unadkat took three wickets for 15 runs against Delhi while young Chetan Sakaria has impressed.
In the absence of Jofra Archer, players like Chris Maurice and Bangladesh bowler Mustafizur Rahman are expected to perform better.
Veteran AB de Villiers for RCB and Glenn Maxwell, who have been associated with the team in the current season, have performed brilliantly. De Villiers has continued his season-by-season performance while Maxwell’s addition has strengthened the middle order.
Kohli has started well in some matches but failed to play big innings. Devdutt Paddikal, the young batsman who impressed in the last season, has not been able to perform effectively so far. Rajat Patidar would like to perform better after two failures.
RCB’s bowling department looks strong. Fast bowlers Harshal Patel and Mohammad Siraj have scored runs at an economy rate of 5.75 and 5.81 respectively.
Patel took five wickets against Mumbai, while left-arm spinner Shahbaz Ahmed changed the stand of the match in one over, taking three wickets for seven runs against the Sunrisers.
RCB played three foreign players against Kolkata Knight Riders instead of four. It will be interesting to see if he lands with a similar playing XI or gives a chance to leg-spinner Adam Jampa, fast bowler Ken Richardson and veteran all-rounder Daniel Christian.
The teams are as follows:
Royal Challengers Bangalore: Virat Kohli (captain), AB de Villiers, Devadatta Padikal, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammad Siraj, Kane Richardson, Washington Sundar, Pawan Deshpande, Joshua Philip, Shahbaz Ahmed, Navdeep Saini, Adam Jampa, Kyle Jameson, Rajat Patidar, Sachin Baby, Mohammad Azharuddin, Dan Christian, KS Bharat, Suyesh Prabhudesai, Daniel Symes and Harshal Patel.
