Serial killer arrested in Gurugram, says wanted to show world what I can do

A22-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly murdering three people on three consecutive nights last week in Gurugram.

The accused has been identified as Mohammad Raji, a resident of Bihar. He was arrested near IFFCO Chowk in Gurugram on Thursday.

Police said the accused, Razi, during questioning admitted that he committed three murders on November 23, 24 and 25. The accused revealed that he killed strangers as he enjoyed committing the crimes and he wanted to show world what he can do, police said.

According to police, the accused would allegedly lure victims into drinking alcohol and would then stab them to death.

On November 23, the accused had allegedly stabbed a man to death in Gurugram’s Leisure Valley Park.

The next day on November 24, the accused went on to commit another murder — stabbed a security guard to death in Gurugram’s Sector 40.

The accused, who allegedly committed the third murder on November 25, had beheaded his third victim identified as 26-year-old Rakesh Kumar.

The decapitated body of Rakesh Kumar was found in Gurugram’s Sector 47. Police said his head was recovered only after Razi’s arrest. During questioning,

Razi revealed that he had slit the victim’s throat due to which the deceased was bleeding profusely. So, he detached his head from the body and threw it near deserted area in Kanhai village in Sector 40.

During the interrogation, the accused said: “I did not understand anything since childhood. Everyone used to say that you are so weak and what would you be able to do. I just thought that I want to show the world what I can do.”

The police had scanned footage of around 250 to 300 CCTV cameras to arrest the accused.

Police said the accused may have been involved in at least 10 murders in Delhi, Gurugram and Bihar and further probe is underway.
