Banking operations publically sector banks across the country were affected on Thursday as some bank unions joined the one-day nationwide strike known as by central trade unions.

Ten central trade unions, except Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, are observant the nationwide general strike to protest against numerous policies of the central government.

The strike by unions is against “anti-labour policy” of the govt. and bank staff are complaining against the privatisation of banks, outsourcing and contract system in jobs within the sector, AIBEA general secretary CH Venkatachalam aforementioned.

“Lok Sabha in its recently control session has passed 3 new labour enactments by disassembly existing twenty seven enactments within the name of ‘Ease of Business’, that are strictly within the interest of corporates.
