Govt relaxes visa norms; except for tourism, all categories of foreigners allowed to enter India

The government on  relaxed visa restrictions to permit all classes of foreign nationals to enter Asian country through air or ocean for any purpose aside from business.

In associate order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the govt. aforesaid, “It has been set to allow all OCI and PIO card holders and every one different foreign nationals desiring to visit Asian country for any purpose, except on a traveler visa to enter by air or water routes through authorised airports and harbour immigration check posts.”

It aforesaid that the choice was to form a stratified relaxation in visa and travel restrictions for additional classes of foreign nationals and Asian countryn nationals World Health Organization want to enter or leave India.

According to the MHA order, the relaxations embody flights operated below Vande India Mission, shipping Bubble arrangements or by any non-scheduled industrial flights as allowed by the Ministry of Civil Aviation. “All such travellers, however, can need to strictly adhere to the rules of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare relating to quarantine and different health/COVID-19 matters,” it added.

The MHA in its order aforesaid that below this stratified relaxation, “Government of Asian country has additionally set to revive with immediate impact all existing visas (except electronic visa, traveler visa and medical visa).”

“If the validity of such visas has expired , contemporary visas of acceptable classes will be obtained from Indian Mission/Posts involved. Foreign nationals desiring to visit Asian country for medical treatment will apply for a medical visa, as well as for his or her medical attendants,” the order aforesaid.

With these relaxations, currently foreign nationals are going to be allowed to return to Asian country for varied functions like business, conferences, employment, studies, research, medical functions and many others.

In view of true arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic, the govt. had taken a series of steps and had set in February this year to curtail the inward and outward movement of international passengers
