Navdeep Saini To Represent Kent In Royal London Cup: Navdeep Saini has become the latest Indian player to get a contract in English county cricket. The India pacer has been signed on a county contract with Kent. Saini will play three County Championship matches, and five Royal London Cup matches for Kent, but his availability is subject to visa clearance.

He has become the fifth Indian player after all-rounder Washington Sundar (Lancashire), veteran batsman Cheteshwar Pujara (Sussex), and all-rounder Krunal Pandya (Warwickshire), and pacer Umesh Yadav (Middlesex) to sign a county contract. He last played for India in July 2021 against Sri Lanka in Colombo.

Navdeep Saini was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo: “I am extremely excited to give my best performance for Kent. This is a great opportunity to play county cricket. I am very excited to debut in county cricket.”

Meanwhile, Kent director Paul Downton said: “We have struggled a lot this season to pick up wickets, whether due to injuries or inconsistent pitches, so we looked forward to adding a fast bowler like Navdeep Saini to our team. Very excited. We are hopeful that he will prove to be a good bowler.”

Let us tell you, Indian bowler Navdeep Saini will play for Kent in county cricket along with New Zealand pacer Matt Henry and South African all-rounder George Linde. Saini has played 2 Tests, 8 ODIs, and 11 T20 Internationals for India so far, in which he has taken 23 wickets.

The Indian pacer has played 53 first-class matches so far and has taken 148 wickets in 91 innings at an average of 28.81, including four five-wicket hauls and the best bowling figure of 6/32.
