David Warner thanks Virat Kohli for gifting Test jersey to his daughter: India absolutely loves it

Australia opener David Warner and India captain Virat Kohli are regarded as the best batsmen of limited-over cricket in the current era. Warner and Kohli share cordial relations off the field despite the intense rivalry on-field in international cricket and Indian Premier League.

Warner’s wife Candice Warner had revealed that their middle child’s favourite cricketer is not her dad or anybody from Australia, but it’s actually India captain Virat Kohli. David and Candice have three daughters – Ivy-Mae (6), Indi-Rae (4) and Isla Rose (1).

Warner took to social media to share a snap of his daughter India donning Virat Kohli’s Test jersey and thanked the India captain for his lovely gesture.

“I know we lost the series but we have one very happy girl here!! Thanks @virat.kohli for your playing jersey, Indi absolutely loves it. Besides daddy and @aaronfinch5 she loves VK #fan #love #cricket,” Warner wrote on Instagram.

Virat Kohli-less India managed to retain the Border Gavaskar series and defeat Australia in the four-match series 2-1, making an incredible turnaround after being bowled out on their lowest-ever score (36) in the first Test in Adelaide.

India did not only miss Kohli for the last three Tests but were dealt with injuries to a number of first-team players. India missed senior pacer Mohammed Shami in the second Test before Umesh Yadav joined him on the sidelines after a groin injury. Hanuma Vihari, Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, and Jasprit Bumrah were all sidelined ahead of the fourth Test.
